Danny Welbeck won’t be back until at least February after yet another injury setback, with Jack Wilshere also facing another six weeks out.
The Arsenal striker has been out since the end of April with a knee injury, and Arsene Wenger revealedthe problem has worsened - further woe during a stint plagued by fitness complaints.‘He is still not available because of bone bruising that deteriorated,’ the manager said of Welbeck, whowill be missing for at least the next eight matches.
‘It is a big blow for us, especially because we could not rotate and lost Alexis Sanchez.’Wenger is to leave a decision on Sanchez’s fitness until the last minute ahead of Sunday's crunch top-of-the-table clash against Manchester City.The Chilean aggravated a hamstring in last month’s draw at Norwich but is desperate for a return.Wilshere hasn’t featured so far this season after a ‘freak’ pre-season accident, with his leg injury not yet healed enough for a return to first-team action.
